Family Reunion

We had a family reunion a couple weekends ago in Ellijay, Ga. Great-Grandma has been very busy planning this. Nanny was going up on Friday when most of the out of towners were coming in & Jackson desperately wanted to go. So he went up with Nanny & Pops. He called us later in the evening to tell us how much fun he was having and that he went swimming all by himself, well Nanny was there but he was kicking & using his arm floaties. He was very proud that no one had to hold onto him & he could swim all by myself as he would say. He got to meet cousins that he hasn't met before, Gavin & Cambell. Cambell & Jackson played together the entire weekend. He kept telling me "I just love her" and wanted to kiss her but I got him to just give her a kiss on the cheek.

We had a great turnout and several family members traveled pretty far. Hawaii!! And why did we not go there for the reunion? I guess it would have cost much more but I vote we go there next. Ok Great-Grandma?

It was a great reunion. Wasn't too hot and the kids had a playground right next to the pavilion and we had some of the best bbq. Who could ask for more???

We are walking!!

Shortly after Nathan turned 10 months he started to walk. He would take a few steps slowly then go back to crawling. Now he is walking everywhere!! He tries so hard to keep up with big brother. He does a good job but not quite as fast....yet.

We were working in that yard & he isn't much help but he got up, grabbed Jackson's wheel barrel & off he went. Jason made the comment that if he can walk, he can work.

Great Season Braves!!

Baseball season is over. What a great year with great kids. Jackson had a rough season, going from running to the wheelchair to the walker to speed walking. But he never missed a game. he tried everytime & loved it all. He wants to come back again next season which is great because it's good for him .....& me. He got his first kiss this season. His friend Brock has a little sister Breea. After practice, Breea came up & gave him the biggest kiss & hug. Jackson grinned & has talked about this ever since. I'll post a pic of her once her mom emails me the pictures. She's a cutie. We had a great end of season cookout at the park. Very relaxing & the kids all had a great time.

Last day of Preschool

First & Last Days of Preschool

Thursday was Jackson's last day of preschool. It was a little sad about it until I reminded him it was water play. They had water play the last 2 days of school so that made up for it. He had a good year & made some great friends. I just hated to see it end. He loves going to school & can't wait until Pre-K.

You Are Healed!!!

Jackson is healed...well, almost. We had another doc appt. today to take x-rays & see the progress of the leg. Daddy got go with us this time so Jackson was very happy about that. He cried last time when we get to take the x-rays but not this time. He walked, almost ran, to the x-ray room. Once we were done there we met up with the doc to check them out. He looked at them & said "You are healed, Jackson!" You can see where the brake was but the bone has grown back together. The 1st thing Jackson asked him was if he could go to the jumpy place. Doc said to wait a little more just to build up strength in the muscle. The next step is another appt in August to get ready for surgery to remove the rods. They will remove them probably in October, then a month to recover & after that he should be good as new. I can't wait.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Jason celebrated his 31st birthday last week & Jackson was very excited about it. He wanted me to buy him a big cake but I talked him into letting me bake one. I could have bought a cuter cake than a boring sheet cake but at least Jackson could help me & it was cheaper. The day started out busy. We had to go to the bank & go get the truck checked out. It's making funny noises, turns out I need shocks. Then it was off to Target to buy Daddy's present. Jackson already had an idea of what he wanted to get him but I tried to stall & hope he would change his mind. He wanted to get Daddy a monster truck. Knowing Daddy would let him have it. What a smart kid. We ended up getting him a screw driver, a jar of slim jims & 3 monster trucks. 1 truck from each of us. We headed home to bake a cake after nap time. Cake was being pulled out of the oven as Daddy called to let us know he was on his way home. Jackson got upset because we had not wrapped the presents yet or made Daddy his birthday card. We got them wrapped, card made & then waited for Dad. I told Jackson once Daddy got home he would need to change before he could open his presents. That didn't happen. As soon as Daddy walked in the door Jackson was pulling him to the kitchen. Daddy looked at the undecorated cake & went to change.

Present Time!!

Jason opened his presents with such joy. He was VERY excited about the monster trucks which made Jackson very happy. We had spaghetti for dinner & then cake that Jackson decorated with sprinkles. It was a very good day.
