This is just too cute. Had to share.
While Jason was cutting grass with Nathan, Jackson & I went for a ride/walk. Nathan got a little upset & started crying. He wanted to go with us. So I took him & tried to get him to walk but he kept getting in Jackson's way & Jackson was running over his toes. I asked Jackson if he could let Nathan ride with him & Jackson said yes. Nathan sat there with his hands in his lap & grinned. He loved it.

Nathan's Birthday Party
We had Nathan's party this past weekend & it was great!! It was Mickey Mouse themed which Nathan LOVES. While he was taking his nap we decorated Nanny's house. Nanny was in charge of balloons & this will forever be her duty. She got TONS of balloons. Nathan didn't know where to look. He took to 1 balloon that had Mickey on it & he didn't let it go all day. (He is still carrying it around) He got lots of great gifts from everyone & I think he was a little overwhelmed by everything. Overall it was a wonderful day & we are thankful for everyone that wanted to spend the day celebrating Nathan's 1st birthday. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.

Jackson gets buzzed!!
Jackson was in a desperate need for a hair cut. So we went out to the front porch & I started cutting. Half way thru he tells me he wants his hair like Daddy. Daddy's is shaved. So we came inside & got Daddy & headed to the basement. I was not very happy about this. I didn't want it buzzed but most his friends & his Daddy have buzzed/shaved heads so he wanted to be like them. It didn't take very long & all his beautiful blonde hair was on the floor. I held back my tears & tried to not let him see me upset. I mean he is still the cutest boy ever but now without hair. I'll get over it. It's only hair, it will grow back.

Nathan turns 1
My sweet little Nathan turned 1 today. It seems like yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital. We aren't having his party until the 18th so today I took him to the lake to see Pa & Grammie. Erica & Codie joined us. I got an oversized cupcake for him to eat & then played in the pool & took a short boat ride, which he fell asleep on. Overall it was a great day for him. Not that he will remember.
4th of July
We had the best 4th of July. We spent it at the beach house in Florida. Which hasn't happen in a few years. We thought leaving early in the morning (4am) would be better for the kids so they could sleep & we could get there early enough to have plenty of sun before it went down. Truck was loaded & each of us picked a kid. As I was putting Jackson in the car he woke up. He did not go back to sleep. He was so excited. Nathan took a few naps. I think Jackson only asked 4-5 thousand times if we were there yet. But we knew that would happen. Overall it was a great trip down.
It was a full house this year. Besides the 4 of us, Uncle Patrick, Aunt Cathy & the kids were there and Ron & his boys. So there were lots of kids which was fun. We spent everyday at the beach. Nathan didn't really care for it but we tried a few times. I think the most we he stayed at the beach was 30 minutes. He'll get better.
On the 4th Jackson entered a kids fishing tournament. He was pumped about this. He borrowed Grammie's fishing pole which he told me was good luck and had plenty of fans. Everyone came to watch him & anyone who has ever been to a fishing tournament knows there isn't much to see. Kids sitting with a pole in their hand waiting for a bite. But that doesn't matter. He was happy everyone came to see him. I explained to him that he might not catch anything, I just wanted him to have fun and Mexico Beach had set this up right. Very organized. Each kid received a hat that Jackson now says is his "fishing hat." They were giving away hot dogs, chips, cookies, water & gatorade. Jackson fished for about an hour & then was ready to go. I can understand. He wasn't catching anything but there were about 100 kids all lined up on the canal so it was hard for anyone to catch. On the way back to the car he told me it was ok he didn't catch anything, he had fun anyway. What a great kid.
The beach, fireworks & BBQ followed the tournament.
The mini-vaca came to an end on Sunday. But that's ok. We are going back at the end of the month!!
