Show & Tell Daddy

Today was show & tell Daddy. Kids got to bring their Daddy's to school & talk about their jobs. Jason managed a surprise Jackson & his class. We told Jackson that Daddy had to go to work & ask to get off so he could come. Truth was that Jason was already off and was only going in so he could pick up a cop car to surprise Jackson. He did. All the other kids went first. (they were saving the best for last, hee hee) Jackson told the class about his Daddy & then Jason talked about safety, strangers & not to be afraid of police men. Then we took the class outside to see the car. They were all excited, especially Jackson. They were allowed to sit in the front & back seat. Of course I was there to take pictures!!

Spring Ball!!!

Spring baseball is finally here. Well ball season is here, Spring not so much. It has still been pretty chilly for ball but true die hard ball players are playing. Jackson is really excited about this season and Nathan wants to go out there with Brudder. Jason is head coaching this season and he is loving it. We have a really great set of kids & coaches. Couple more years Nathan. So far 1 loss & 1 win. Not bad. More to come but here are a few pics....

December 2009

I know this is late. But better late than never. Right? Things have just been crazy. We started the month out with Nathan getting tubes in his ears. It was a very quick surgery. Barb went with me and of course Nathan loved that. He was in a great mood before but when he came back he wasn't very happy. Very cranky until he took a pretty good nap and when he woke from the nap he was the same ole Nathan. Happy & playful. The tubes have been great. No more ear infections!!
We then moved to Jackson's 5th Birthday. 5, really? It just doesn't seem right. My first born is 5. He had his party at Jump for Joey's. This was the 1st year he got to invite all his friends. Baseball & school friends. He was very excited. He got alot of really cool toys & this year he wanted a Lightening McQueen & Mater cake. After his party his friends Brock & Breea got to come over & have his 1st sleepover. They got to stay up a little late to watch a movie & eat popcorn. Then off to bed. They all slept in sleeping bags on Jackson's floor. It took about an hour for them all to go to sleep but that was fine. The next morning we all got up & ate a great breakfast. It was a great way to top off his birthday party weekend.
Next up. Christmas!!! What a Christmas it was. I think this was my best one yet. I can honestly say that there was no drama. Or maybe I didn't see any drama. We had several family parties & then on Christmas Day Nanny, Pops, Uncle Bubbie & Aunt Mara came over. Jason smoked his 1st turkey. He was very nervous but it was awesome!! I was very proud of him and he's only gonna get better at it. We are taking requests for next year so anyone who wants one let us know.
The boys were overwhelmed with gifts. Santa was very good to them. Jackson got drums, skates, nerf gun & cowboy boots from his brother. Jason & I got him a Monster Jam game for the Wii & he has played that everyday since. He is so good at it. Nathan got a tricycle from Santa plus several Elmo & Mickey toys. Jackson asked Santa to bring him an outside toy. Nathan loves it too. He also got his own toy box from Nanny & Pops plus several other things. But the boys favorite gift came from Uncle Bubbie, Aunt Mara, Nanny & Pops. They got a monster truck as Jackson calls it. It's a battery powered 4x4 truck. It even has it's own radio which everyone knows Jackson loves music. They are very cute riding down the road in it. On the weekend after Christmas we went to Alabama. Ate a great dinner & then the boys got to open even more presents. Nathan got a barn with all the animals that are in a barn and 2 Mickey's. He carries both Mickey's everywhere. Jackson got monster trucks & a movie that we have watched several times already. This was just a blessful Christmas.
We then got invited to the Science museum with Brock & Breea. This place is awesome. We will be going back. We spent the entire day there. Jackson was amazed with everything there & it didn't hurt that he got to spend the day with his best friend Brock either. After the museum he got to go home with Brock & spend the night with him. That was extra awesome. (this is what he told me) He had a great time over there & was asked back. Which we all know that means he behaved!!!
Lastly was New Years. We went to Amanda & Greg's. It was a calm but very fun evening. The kids behaved. All 6 of them. (Chase went to his Mom's) The men stayed outside cooking wings and the women played Phase 10. At midnight we all went outside & shot off a few fireworks. Then the men started playing poker & we finished our game. Mason was the 1st to fall asleep at 1:00, Nathan at 1:30. Jackson stayed up until we got home at 2:30. Good Job Jackson!! It was such a relaxing evening with great friends & all our great kids. I am in such amazement what great kids they are turning into, Brennan & Will. I have seen these kids their entire life & they are such awesome people. Mandy, JJ, Amanda, & Greg should be very proud and I know they are. I just wanted to express what great kids they are and how much I love them. I too am proud of them.
Next up 2010. This will be a better year for all. We have alot coming up & I can't wait. Love to all my family & friends. Thanks for being a part of our life. Jason & I are very thankful for you all.
Much Love!!!

Oh yeah-I will get pics up for the month of December as soon as I can.

Nathan's rough day.

We went Sunday outside getting ready for Christmas, I know it's not even Thanksgiving but we don't turn anything on until after Thanksgiving. We just get ready so we can enjoy them longer. The kids were everywhere. Where ever Jackson went Nathan was right behind him. Trying to keep up but he just couldn't. So Nathan got a few boo boos on his face. Poor guy, he had a rough one. A few days later he got to eat yogurt by himself. You can see in the pics that I don't think the sores on his face were bothering him anymore. I think he painted himself & the high chair instead of eating it.

Jackson's surgery. Part 2

I am gonna go ahead & say sorry. I might ramble on with this one or get emotional on this. This has been such a roller coaster of a time. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever think something like this could happen or would happen to my child. Jason & I have had so many ups & downs with this that now that the rods are out & the follow up appt. is over, I can breathe. I know to most people it's only a broke leg but to us, it shook us. It could have been soo much worse and for some strange reason God blessed us & we only got a broke leg out of it. I have always been very thankful for both my kids but now, it's a whole new level of thankfulness. I could not ever see myself without them & want to give them everything. I also have a whole new appreciation for little things & for my entire family & friends. Thank you all for everything you have done for us.
Now on to Jackson's surgery...

Jackson had the rods removed from his leg on October 26th. He couldn't have anything to eat after midnight the night before so I told him we could go anywhere he wanted or cook anything. Of course he chose Applebees. So we went. Nanny, Pops, Uncle Bubbie & Aunt Mara went also. He ate great & the waitress brought him a huge ice cream dessert just for him & told him good luck tomorrow. He did share. Afterwards we went to Nanny's watched Mickey Mouse & went to bed. We had to get up early in the morning. However, Nathan was up most of the night. I think he knew something was up.

The next morning we got there at 7 & Jackson was in a pretty good mood. He knew exactly what was gonna happen so there was no surprises. Surgery was planned for 8:30 but the time went by pretty fast for me & Jason. Everyone was super nice & even let Jackson pick a new toy out of the toy cabinet. That made him very happen & he chose a train set of course.

I got to walk with him back to the surgery room. Mommy was much more nervous than Jackson. He got on the table & they put the "nose sucker" on his nose. He said I love you, I kissed him & that was it. He was asleep. As they were walking me back to pre-op room is when I started to cry. Now comes waiting. I think it was a little over a hour. When he came out he was so peaceful.

It took about a week & he was back to normal. It was swollen and he was scared to walk on it but after a day or 2 at school, he was fine. He is perfect. Even with his 2 "war wounds".
These were the rods in his leg.

October 2009

Has it really been this long since I last updated the blog? I really need to get on this. I am gonna update for October and try to get November finished after Thanksgiving.

Baseball ended this month. We had a great season. A learning season. This year Jackson started tee ball. Which means we have umps, keep score & even have outs. In tiny tots, everyone hits & everyone scores. So the 1st game was an interesting one. By the end of the season tho, I think they got it. It was hard for them because with all this rain we never got a practice in. Just games. But that's ok. Jason really enjoyed coaching. He's such a natural at it. Jackson thought it was pretty cool that Daddy was out there. I liked seeing him out there too & I think he liked it but won't admit how much. I hope it works out that he can coach Spring ball because it is right around the corner.

Jackson had surgery on October 26th. I'll blog later about the surgery.

Next was Halloween.

We went to Paulding Meadows with Vic & Jen & the kids to go trick or treating. Kids were excited because that meant they got candy. Jackson wore his costume but Nathan didn't. He wasn't feeling very well. This year Jackson wanted to be Spider Man. When we met up with Jenn, Tristan also was Spider Man. It made it easier to spot 2 Spider Mans together. Everyone thought they were twins. It was alot of fun.

The boys carved their pumpkins. Well Daddy did most of it. Jackson picked the face of both. Nathan wasn't sure of his. He kept hitting it as if it was a drum. Jackson thought they are cool all lit up.

On Halloween we were supposed to go to Emily's for a hayride & cookout but poor thing. Emily got the flu. So Amanda invited us over with the kids for a cookout. Kids went trick or treating while the men cooked. Nathan came down with his 2nd ear infection so he went to Nanny & Pop's. I think he had more fun there anyway. He was the center of attention. I did dress him. For pictures of course. He wore Jackson's motorcross outfit. It fit him perfect.

Walking with Dinosaurs

This week has sucked. Major flooding has knocked school out all week. So by day 2 with both kids at home & stuck inside they were getting cabin fever. So I can't tell you how happy I was when I won 4 tickets to the Walking with Dinosaurs for Wednesday night. Jackson was very excited to go. Jason said he would stay home with Nathan & I asked Amanda & Mason to go. It was such an awesome show. Mason & Jackson were such good boys, I could not have asked for better kids. They loved the show. On the way out we bought them an over priced T-Rex. But they deserved it.
