Nathan's rough day.

We went Sunday outside getting ready for Christmas, I know it's not even Thanksgiving but we don't turn anything on until after Thanksgiving. We just get ready so we can enjoy them longer. The kids were everywhere. Where ever Jackson went Nathan was right behind him. Trying to keep up but he just couldn't. So Nathan got a few boo boos on his face. Poor guy, he had a rough one. A few days later he got to eat yogurt by himself. You can see in the pics that I don't think the sores on his face were bothering him anymore. I think he painted himself & the high chair instead of eating it.

Jackson's surgery. Part 2

I am gonna go ahead & say sorry. I might ramble on with this one or get emotional on this. This has been such a roller coaster of a time. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever think something like this could happen or would happen to my child. Jason & I have had so many ups & downs with this that now that the rods are out & the follow up appt. is over, I can breathe. I know to most people it's only a broke leg but to us, it shook us. It could have been soo much worse and for some strange reason God blessed us & we only got a broke leg out of it. I have always been very thankful for both my kids but now, it's a whole new level of thankfulness. I could not ever see myself without them & want to give them everything. I also have a whole new appreciation for little things & for my entire family & friends. Thank you all for everything you have done for us.
Now on to Jackson's surgery...

Jackson had the rods removed from his leg on October 26th. He couldn't have anything to eat after midnight the night before so I told him we could go anywhere he wanted or cook anything. Of course he chose Applebees. So we went. Nanny, Pops, Uncle Bubbie & Aunt Mara went also. He ate great & the waitress brought him a huge ice cream dessert just for him & told him good luck tomorrow. He did share. Afterwards we went to Nanny's watched Mickey Mouse & went to bed. We had to get up early in the morning. However, Nathan was up most of the night. I think he knew something was up.

The next morning we got there at 7 & Jackson was in a pretty good mood. He knew exactly what was gonna happen so there was no surprises. Surgery was planned for 8:30 but the time went by pretty fast for me & Jason. Everyone was super nice & even let Jackson pick a new toy out of the toy cabinet. That made him very happen & he chose a train set of course.

I got to walk with him back to the surgery room. Mommy was much more nervous than Jackson. He got on the table & they put the "nose sucker" on his nose. He said I love you, I kissed him & that was it. He was asleep. As they were walking me back to pre-op room is when I started to cry. Now comes waiting. I think it was a little over a hour. When he came out he was so peaceful.

It took about a week & he was back to normal. It was swollen and he was scared to walk on it but after a day or 2 at school, he was fine. He is perfect. Even with his 2 "war wounds".
These were the rods in his leg.

October 2009

Has it really been this long since I last updated the blog? I really need to get on this. I am gonna update for October and try to get November finished after Thanksgiving.

Baseball ended this month. We had a great season. A learning season. This year Jackson started tee ball. Which means we have umps, keep score & even have outs. In tiny tots, everyone hits & everyone scores. So the 1st game was an interesting one. By the end of the season tho, I think they got it. It was hard for them because with all this rain we never got a practice in. Just games. But that's ok. Jason really enjoyed coaching. He's such a natural at it. Jackson thought it was pretty cool that Daddy was out there. I liked seeing him out there too & I think he liked it but won't admit how much. I hope it works out that he can coach Spring ball because it is right around the corner.

Jackson had surgery on October 26th. I'll blog later about the surgery.

Next was Halloween.

We went to Paulding Meadows with Vic & Jen & the kids to go trick or treating. Kids were excited because that meant they got candy. Jackson wore his costume but Nathan didn't. He wasn't feeling very well. This year Jackson wanted to be Spider Man. When we met up with Jenn, Tristan also was Spider Man. It made it easier to spot 2 Spider Mans together. Everyone thought they were twins. It was alot of fun.

The boys carved their pumpkins. Well Daddy did most of it. Jackson picked the face of both. Nathan wasn't sure of his. He kept hitting it as if it was a drum. Jackson thought they are cool all lit up.

On Halloween we were supposed to go to Emily's for a hayride & cookout but poor thing. Emily got the flu. So Amanda invited us over with the kids for a cookout. Kids went trick or treating while the men cooked. Nathan came down with his 2nd ear infection so he went to Nanny & Pop's. I think he had more fun there anyway. He was the center of attention. I did dress him. For pictures of course. He wore Jackson's motorcross outfit. It fit him perfect.

Walking with Dinosaurs

This week has sucked. Major flooding has knocked school out all week. So by day 2 with both kids at home & stuck inside they were getting cabin fever. So I can't tell you how happy I was when I won 4 tickets to the Walking with Dinosaurs for Wednesday night. Jackson was very excited to go. Jason said he would stay home with Nathan & I asked Amanda & Mason to go. It was such an awesome show. Mason & Jackson were such good boys, I could not have asked for better kids. They loved the show. On the way out we bought them an over priced T-Rex. But they deserved it.

Go New Georgia Bulldogs!!!

Baseball has started back up!! YEAH!!! This is season we moved up to T-Ball. No longer tiny tots, we now have refs and they keep score. This should be fun. Jason is the assistant coach this season & Jackson is pumped about this. He keeps wanting to hug his Daddy & tell him that he loves him but Jason won't let him. He tells him "fist pump on the field, no loving". He's gonna regret that one day. We are the black bulldogs. At the 1st game all the kids were ready to play however we were not. We didn't win or even come close but I don't think the kids knew that. They didn't really understand why it was so different this season from last. They will get it. Jackson told me he had fun & that really is all that matters.
Oh yeah, he decided he wanted to play catched just like his Dad did.

Grandparents Day

On September 11th we had Grnadparents Day at school. Jackson invited all his Grandparents to come to school to have breakfast with him and see what he does all day. He was pretty excited and couldn't wait to get to school. It was a little crazy & crowded but we managed to get in. I went only for photos & tried to stay back. He had muffins & fruit for breakfast then he gave each Grandparent a card that he made with a poem in it. He was very proud of it. After that he introduced his Grandparents to the class. He was supposed to tell the class what he likes doing with each one. I remember with Grammy he said that they liked doing, what they like doing. He said he liked going to Pop's house & watching tv. Now we all know that he does much more than that. At Pa & Grammie's he swims, rides the boat, fishes & plays in the dirt. At Pop's & Nanny's they swim in the pool, play trains, works in the flower garden & as he tells me he takes care of Great-Grandma. Of course he didn't remember any of this. Oh well, it was nice anyway.

Mom, I'm Taken

Jackson is a taken man or boy. He has a girlfriend. Yesterday he came home from school & told me that he has a girlfriend and that he is taken. I asked what her name is & he didn't remember but did remember that she is beautiful, she has hair like him!! (blonde hair) He said they were on the playground & he asked if she wanted to be his girlfriend & she said yes. I asked if he was kissing her & he said "No, just alot of hugging" which I will keep my eye on. lol. He said he would point her out to me & that I needed to meet her because she's gonna come to our house for a playdate. Such a little planner. Wonder where he gets that from. Hummmm. So this morning at school I needed to talk to his teacher. He won't be at school tomorrow due to a leg doctor appt. As I was leaving he comes running across the room "that's her Mommy!" He gives this little girl a huge hug. She is smiling too & tells me that Jackson is her boyfriend. They start holding hands & head to the table for breakfast. Jackson's teacher told me the story about yesterday & that they have told the whole class that they are boyfriend & girlfriend. Young love. Already starting & it's only the 2nd week of Pre-K!! Oh yea-She is very cute. Good choice Jackson!!
