Last day of 1st grade

I know it's been awhile. But time to catch up... Last day of 1st grade was great. We have been counting down the days for quite some time. Rough year but it's over. Jackson worked so hard all year to get perfect attendance & thankfully he got it!!! I still think they should give the Mom's an award for it since we are the ones to get them there on time everyday & trust me that was a chore. On the last day of school they put all the kids who had perfect attendance on the morning news. There was only 12 kids & Jackson was the only 1st grader!! In his words...How cool was that??? They don't do awards day for 1st grade (I am not happy about this, every grade should get one. Kids work hard all year & need that) BUT we had our own awards day the next night & Jackson chose Beef O'Brady's. He was pretty excited.

Game Ball

Nathan's ball season has been very different from Jackson's. Nathan is very emotional & at most games over playing. He gets ready & we head to the park & he is very excited but that quickly turns sour. At one game he wouldn't play because we brought his yellow bat (which he has used ALL season, every time!!) & he wanted his red bat (which is too small & he only used it for pictures because it matched his uniform) so we had a major meltdown. He wouldn't play at all. All because of a bat. But the next weekend, he got out on the field & played the best game he has ever played AND get this, when it was his turn to bat he chose the yellow bat. I swear that kid will be the death of me. At the end of the game he even got his 1st game ball for hustling & playing hard. Way to go Nathan!!

Spring Break!!

Spring has sprung & it couldn't have come at a better time. Jackson needed this break as did Mommy. We stayed home this Spring Break but managed to squeeze in a little fun with our good friend Zach, his Mom & Sister, Savannah. Who if you ask Nathan, Savannah is his girlfriend. It's very cute.

The boys spent the first weekend in Alabama. This was Nathan's first overnight trip & I was a little nervous. For my parents not Nathan. Shockingly they all survived & he wants to go back & spend the night again. Awesome!!

On Monday we went with Zach & hiked Sweetwater Creek Park. They hadn't been there so Jackson took this opportunity to show Zach the woods. They climbed on anything they could find & then played in the cold creek. Poor Savannah got dragged by Nathan all thru the creek, in flip flops no less. She never complained & Nathan was a happy boy.

Wednesday~ Easter Bunny day. I took the boys to the mall to see the Easter Bunny & get our picture taken. Nathan was pretty excited & sang about the bunny all the way there.

Thursday~Bowling Day. They love to bowl & the bowling alley has such a great deal on Thursday it is very hard to pass up. We bowled 1 game but that game took an hour & after that we went for pizza.

Friday~Was Six Flags day. Sadly I don't have any pictures of the day except for the one I bought at the park. Jason prefers me not to take the camera because I am a little clumsy.

I was a great Spring Break. Now 7 more weeks of 1st grade.....The countdown has begun.

Jackson lost his 1st tooth!!

Jackson has had a loose tooth for awhile now but on March 18th he finally got it out & boy was he excited. I think he had a little help from the adult tooth coming in behind it but that didn't matter. He wouldn't let me pull it but when Daddy got home, looked at it & told him to move it back & forth with his tongue he popped right out.

He wanted to keep the tooth but knew he needed to put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy so we wrote a note & asked if he could keep this tooth for his tooth jar that Nanny got his when he was little. The tooth fairy said yes & put the tooth in the jar for him. She also left him $5.00!!!

I just hope he understands that he won't be getting 5 bucks everytime. This tooth fairy does not have that kind of money.

Winter Break

Winter break this year was more like a pre-spring break. Weather was awesome!! I had a few activities planned which of course included the zoo. My kids love the zoo. We took a friend from Jackson's baseball team & his sister who is Nathan's age & they play together at practice. So it was perfect. Most the animals were out but the best part was the rock climbing wall. Everytime we go Jackson attempts it & gets further each try. Well, last time we went he made it to the top. I was hoping he would make the top again but you never know. Attitude comes up & he starts to say he can't do it. But he made it. Not once but twice & not on the "easy" side. He told me later that night that he's gonna try the hard side next time.

Nathan is still a little small for the wall but in his mind he is the size of an elphant so of course he gets to try. They put him on the wall & he takes a step & turns to smile. That's it for him but at least he tried.

I quit. I'm not playing anymore!!

Yes you read the title right. It was a rough practice last week for Mr. Nathan. It was a later practice & he missed his nap so cranky doesn't even describe it. Coach was hitting a few balls to the kids & Nathan was getting to the ball first. The little boy next to him kept getting to it & after about 5 hits Nathan takes his glove off throws it on the ground and announces to everyone "I quit. I'm not playing baseball anymore!" It was quite funny and after a talk with me we got back out there & he's loving it more & more everyday.

Nathan's Playing Ball!!

Time has finally come for Nathan to start ball. He has been talking about playing for quite some time now. He had his 1st practice this week. He seemed pretty excited that it until it was time to start. He ran off the field crying. No biggie. He sat with me & we waited until his friend Riley got there. He has been playing with Riley ever since Jackson started playing ball. Riley's older brother plays with Jackson so they know each other pretty good. Riley gets there & takes off to the field. Nathan wasn't far behind. Once out there he had a ball. Loved every minute & did everything Coach told him to do. Jason & I think Nathan is gonna be the kid that attacks every ball hit. Which at this age it's ok.

Getting cleats on for practice

Baseball ready....trying to tell him hands on the knees. He'll get it.

Up at bat. 1st hit went almost to 2nd base!!
